Fentanyl Awareness Day – May 9, 2023

 

May 9 commemorates the second annual Fentanyl Awareness Day – a day to remember those we have lost to fentanyl overdoses and to raise awareness about the dangers of this highly potent synthetic opioid. We know Nationally that fentanyl is driving the increase in overdose deaths. Fentanyl is involved in more American youth drug deaths than heroin, meth, cocaine, benzos, and Rx drugs COMBINED. If you suspect someone is overdosing on fentanyl, you should still administer Naloxone (Narcan) and call 9-1-1 immediately.
